Role permissions within the Core HR product

To ensure employees can effectively perform their job responsibilities, it is essential to configure user roles with appropriate access to the features and menus in the system. This article explores all permissions that can be granted within the Core HR module regarding employee leave policies, team management, and company property.

Access to Roles and permissions configuration

In the Settings > Security > Roles & permissions section, you can edit the permissions for default roles or create custom roles for different purposes.

Setting up Core HR permissions

For All employees, Managers, Team leads, and your custom roles, you can grant permissions to perform various actions at the company level. To do this, you must go to the Company > HR section while editing or creating a role and select the options you wish to be available for that role.

Here is the list of all actions and access within the Core HR module that you can provide for a role:

  • Allow access to the leave timeline: provides access to Calandar > Timeline tab to view all leaves across the company.

  • Approve and reject leaves: allows users to approve and reject all leave request within the company, even this employee is not assigned as request approver.

  • Manage employee leave policies: allows users to assign, edit or delete leave policies for employees within the company.

  • Manage employee documents: allows users to view all the documents, add new or delete ones in the profiles all employees within the company.

  • Manage workflows: provides access to the Workflows tab, where user can view all workflows created within the company, add new ones and assign them to all employees.

  • Manage teams: provides access to the People > Teams section if you the View option is selected. The Edit option allows employees to not only view the information but also to add, edit, and delete teams. The None option means that the Teams tab will not be visible for the user.

  • Manage assets: provides access to the Assests tab if you the View option is selected. The Edit option allows employees to not only view the information but also to add, edit, and delete assets. The None option means that the tab will not be visible for the user.

  • Settings: provides access to a specific section of PeopleForce HR settings for users to customize the platform.


    Access can be granted to all or specific settings sections from the following: Leave policies, Work patterns, Compensations, Probation policies, Termination reasons, Termination types, Documents, People data, Asset fields, and Asset categories.
