According to Polish legislation, employees are entitled to extra leave days after 10 years of total work experience, which may include university education. HR can now easily adjust this in Accruals & carryover settings by enabling Grant additional days based on total work experience and specifying the number of extra days to be accrued.

Recording employee experience before hire
A new Experience before hire field has been added to the Hire form, allowing you to record prior work experience for every new hire. When creating a new hire:
Fill in the standard fields in the Hire form.
In the Experience before hire section, enter the employee’s previous experience in years and months.
After the employee is created in the system, this information will be displayed in the Lifecycle section.
Total Work Experience will be calculated as tenure + experience before hire.
Updating experience for existing employees
For employees already in the system:
Navigate to their profile and go to the Job section.
In the Lifecycle section, edit Experience before hire (Years and months) fields. This information will be included in the calculation of the total work experience.
Grant additional days based on total work experience
In leave policy settings → Accruals & carryover, you can now enable Grant additional days based on total work experience.
Specify the required number of years and the extra leave days to be granted.
Depending on the policy settings, these additional days will be automatically accrued at the start of the year or on the hire date.
For example, in Poland, employees who reach 10 years of total experience within a year receive 6 additional days.
If the number of additional leave days depends on an employee’s total work experience, you can configure accruals using levels. For example, employees with 5 years of experience should receive 5 additional days, while those with 7 years should receive 10 additional days, granted from the date of hire.
To configure this:
Click + Add after enabling Grant additional days based on total work experience.
Enter the total years of experience and the corresponding number of additional leave days to be granted.
You can add up to 10 experience-to-leave pairs to cover all your scenarios.
3. If multiple levels are added, ensure the years of experience are listed in ascending order.
4. Save your settings or proceed to the next step of the configuration.
This setup ensures experienced new hires automatically receive the appropriate leave entitlement from their first day, without manual adjustments.
Apply to different accrual levels
This option is available for all accrual levels but is disabled by default.
Once enabled, you can specify the number of additional days, which will be applied automatically.
