This feature is currently released behind a feature flag while we continue expanding and refining visibility coverage across the platform.
If you notice any unexpected visibility behavior after enabling the feature, please contact our support team.
The “All people” role now includes visibility settings that let you control which employees users can see across the platform.
You can choose between:
Everyone (default) — users can see all employees as before
Specific people — limit visibility based on legal entity, division, location, or team
This helps create a more relevant employee experience across larger or more complex organizations. For example, regional teams can see only employees in their own location, separate business units can stay isolated from each other, and employees can focus on the teams they actually work with.
At this stage, visibility settings apply specifically to the end-employee experience for users with standard “All people” permissions.
What visibility settings currently affect
The configured visibility rules apply across areas where employees interact with or discover other people, including:
People Directory & Org Chart
Teams
Who’s Out
Birthdays, Anniversaries & Newcomers
Calendar (timeline & calendar views)
Task assignment
Perform workflows such as:
1:1 setup
feedback requests
Kudos mentions
peer nominations in Performance Reviews
For example, if the rule is set to “Specific people – Department is Own”, it means each person will only see their own department in the org chart.
So, in the All People view, Andrew Smith from the IT department will only see people from the IT department, not the rest of the company.
Important notes
Visibility settings do not currently apply to users with elevated permissions such as admins, middle managers, local HR, or other advanced roles. Additional controls for these experiences will be introduced gradually in future releases.
Some platform areas also require customers to configure content visibility appropriately. For example, if announcements or Knowledge Base content are shared company-wide, employee interactions such as comments or reactions may still expose names outside the configured people visibility scope.
