How to use objective weights

Learn how to add weights to the people objectives

Updated this week

Employees and managers can assign weights to bonus-related goals or other high-priority objectives set for a quarter or any defined period.

After the quarter ends, progress is calculated based on the achieved results, showing whether bonus-related goals were met. This ensures clearer accountability and supports accurate, results-based rewards.

Assigning weights to objectives

This feature allows managers or employees themselves to assign weights to employee-level objectives. Weights represent the relative importance of each objective and help ensure more accurate progress tracking.

Access objectives

  1. Go to Performance → Objectives.

  2. Open the People tab to view objectives across employees.

  3. Select the employee whose objective weights you want to adjust.

  4. Click Edit weights (if available) to modify the distribution.

  5. Assign a custom percentage to each objective. The total must always equal 100%.

Example:

  • Objective A – 40%

  • Objective B – 30%

  • Objective C – 30%

Employee view

Employees can assign weights to their own objectives in Performance → Objectives → My.

They can also access weights from their Employee profile → Performance tab. By clicking Add and manage objective, they will be redirected to their objectives page, where they can create objectives and assign corresponding weights.
