System log report

View audit of actions across your employee records

The System log records actions performed across employee records in your PeopleForce account. It helps you track changes, identify who performed them, and review additional technical details such as IP address, device, and browser information when available.

You can access the report in the Reports → System log tab.

Getting started with filters

At the top of the report, you can use the following tools:

  • Add filter – Filter records by:

    • Date & Time

    • Performed by

    • Affected person

    • Event name

  • Search – Find specific records by entering keywords.

  • View settings – Sort records by Date & Time or IP address.

To find events for a specific timeframe, use the Date & Time filter. This is the easiest way to narrow down the report and review only the actions performed during the period you need. You can combine this filter with other filters, such as Performed by or Event name, to investigate specific changes more precisely.

The report updates instantly to show only the entries that match your filters and date range.

Understanding the report

To gain a better understanding of the actions performed within employee records, refer to the table below, which presents the following information:

  • Date & Time - when the action happened (date and time).

  • IP address – The IP address from which the action was performed.

  • Performed by - the user who performed the action.

  • Event - what happened (for example, a record was created or updated).

  • Affected person - the employee whose profile data was impacted.

When you click Open, a side panel appears with additional information about the event. Depending on the action, this panel may include:

  • GUID

  • Date & Time

  • Performed by

  • Affected person

  • IP address

  • Device

  • Browser

Report export

You can download the audit trail in a few clicks:

  1. Apply the filters and date range you need.

  2. Click Export to in the upper-right corner.

  3. Choose the format: Excel or CSV.

The export includes the same data you see on the page for the selected filters and time period. This makes it easy to share a filtered audit trail with auditors or internal stakeholders.
