Learn how you can manage your direct reports time off requests

As soon as an employee makes a request for holiday, sick leave or any other type of paid/unpaid time off, you (managers) will receive a notification on PeopleForce, where you can quickly approve, decline, and comment on the request. You can also approve or decline directly from Slack and Mobile app without opening PeopleForce on computer.

Notifications

When the time off request is submitted, you (manager) get notification:

  • Email notification: An email with a link to PeopleForce will be sent to you as an approver.

  • Task creation: A task with a View request button will be created in the approver’s task list.

  • Dashboard notification: A notification will appear on the approver’s (manager) notification dashboard.

How to quickly approve or decline time off requests from Timeline

1. Navigate to Calendar > Timeline.

  • Approved leave requests are filled with color.

  • Leave requests that still need approval are not filled.

  • This allows you to quickly see which requests have been approved and which ones need review.

2. Find the requests of your direct reports and click on them.

3. In the pop-up side panel, review the details of the request.

4. To approve the request, click the checkmark (✔). To decline it, click the X (✖).

5. The employee will receive a notification email regarding your decision.

How to view employees' time off requests

1. All time off requests needing your approval will be displayed in the To-do's widget on the Home page.

2. Click on a request to review its details, including attachments, dates, and comments.

3. To approve the request, click the checkmark (✔). To decline it, click the X (✖). The employee will receive a notification email regarding your decision.
