2.47 Release overview

Summary of all features and improvements we're announcing in this release

This release introduces several new ways to automate HR processes and work with employee data. You can now automate employee reviews with Lifecycle reviews, create calendar events directly from workflows, and use the redesigned workflow task assignment options for safer and more flexible task distribution. The release also brings Leave cycles, expanded People Directory filtering, and a clearer approval timeline for form requests.

We’ve also added new import capabilities for KPI definitions, KPI progress, and asset assignments, expanded reporting and exports across several areas, and more. Explore the updates below for the full details.

🌱 Automate employee reviews with Lifecycle reviews

Lifecycle reviews make it possible to run performance reviews automatically according to each employee’s individual timeline instead of launching one large review cycle for everyone at the same time.

You can create a Lifecycle review and connect it to a workflow triggered by a date-related employee attribute, such as the end of probation period or anniversary. When the workflow reaches the Request lifecycle review action, the review is created automatically for that employee.

Because each review is triggered individually, employees within the same Lifecycle review can have different start and end dates. You can also define how long each review remains open and when reminders should be sent relative to the review launch date.

This makes Lifecycle reviews especially useful for recurring processes such as probation reviews, where employees reach the same milestone at different times throughout the year. HR teams no longer need to create separate manual review cycles for each employee or keep one review cycle permanently open. More details here.

🗓️ More structured leave history with Leave cycles (Beta)

We’re changing how leave history is structured around Leave cycles, making historical leave data easier to understand and manage.

Leave data is now organized according to the employee’s applicable cycle, such as a calendar-year cycle or a custom cycle based on the employee’s hire date. This makes it clearer which period each leave record belongs to instead of showing historical data across less structured periods.

🔍 Filter the People Directory within your existing access scope

Advanced filtering in the People Directory is becoming more useful for managers and HR teams who have access only to specific groups of employees.

Previously, users needed access to the relevant field across all employees in order to use it in advanced filtering. With this update, filtering works within the user’s existing access scope instead.

For example, a manager can filter their direct reports by a field they are allowed to view for those employees, even if they do not have access to the same field across the entire company. The same applies to HR teams responsible for specific employee groups.

This gives users much more flexibility when finding and segmenting employees while continuing to respect existing employee and field permissions.

✅ More flexible and safer workflow task assignments

Task assignment in workflows has been redesigned to make it easier to control how work is distributed between multiple assignees.

When configuring a task for several people, you can now choose directly whether they should receive:

  • a shared task, where all selected assignees work with the same task; or

  • personal copies, where each selected person receives their own task.

Shared tasks now support advanced assignment conditions. This is useful when responsibility belongs to a group rather than one specific person, for example, when any member of an HR or IT department can complete the task.

To prevent unexpectedly large task volumes, shared task assignments are limited to the first 30 people when the configured selection returns more than 30 assignees.

Personal copies now support simple variable-based assignments, so roles such as the employee’s manager and team lead can each receive their own copy from a single task configuration. More details here.

💡 Existing workflows that already use the previous advanced personal assignment remain unchanged.

📋 Follow form request approvals with a clearer timeline

Approval chains for form requests now use a refreshed timeline view, making it easier to follow each approval step.

The updated design presents approvers and approval progress in a clearer sequence, so users can quickly understand where a request currently sits and what still needs to happen.

This is especially helpful for requests with several approval stages, where the timeline provides a more readable overview of the full approval process.

🛠️ Other updates

In addition to the major enhancements, we've also rolled out several other updates to improve your overall experience with PeopleForce. Here's a quick overview of these:

Core HR

  • New filters have been added to the Org Chart. The Org Chart now supports filtering by Location, Position, and Work Type, so you can focus on the exact part of the organization you need. The export button has been relocated for consistency, and your filter selections now persist across sessions, giving you accurate and focused organizational views every time you return.

  • Only leave types with published policies are available for assignment. When assigning a leave type to an employee, the Leave type dropdown now shows only leave types that have at least one published policy. This update ensures that every leave type available for selection has a policy that can be assigned.

  • Skills field now available in custom reports. Custom reports now include a Skills field, so HR teams can incorporate employee skills directly into their reporting. This makes it easier to analyze capabilities across the workforce without exporting data elsewhere.

  • Move company documents between folders in bulk. Authorized users can now select multiple company documents at once and move them between folders, preserving important metadata in the process. This reduces manual work when reorganizing document libraries.

  • Legal entity placeholder added to employee document templates. You can now insert a Legal entity placeholder into employee document templates, improving document accuracy and relevance while streamlining creation and helping ensure compliance with legal standards.

  • Asset assignments can now be imported in bulk. A new Assign assets import lets you assign assets to employees or update existing assignments using a file. Required fields are validated before import, and a preview step lets you review the mapped data and identify issues before completing the import. This is especially useful when assigning assets to many employees at once, such as during large-scale onboarding.

  • Easier employee identification in @mentions. The @mention dropdown in rich text editors now displays each employee’s avatar and job position alongside their name, making it easier to distinguish between people with the same or similar names. The dropdown also includes several display improvements for smoother browsing and selection when mentioning employees in tasks, comments, announcements, and other supported fields.

  • A new Create a calendar event action is available in workflows. You can now automatically create calendar events as part of a workflow and configure details such as the event timing, location, organizer, and other event information. Events can be created through Google Calendar or Outlook integrations. If no calendar integration is connected, participants can receive an email invitation that they can add to their calendar instead. This helps automate meetings and other scheduled activities within employee processes.

Recruit

  • Status column and export enhancements in the Time to Fill report. The Time to Fill report now includes a status column with badges showing each vacancy's state, and CSV exports now include additional columns for Status, Hiring Lead, and Legal Entity. This gives recruiters clearer insights into pipeline progress.

  • Vacancy details and additional candidate fields are now included in the export. When exporting candidates from a specific vacancy, CSV and XLSX files now include vacancy details and a broader set of candidate data, including system fields, active custom fields, recruiter information, pipeline stage, disqualification details, and the date the candidate was added to the vacancy.

The export respects your company’s field configuration and user permissions, so disabled or restricted fields are omitted automatically. Existing filters and the separation between active and disqualified candidates also continue to apply.

  • Candidate name variables added to the Interview invitation template. The Interview invitation template now supports variables for the candidate's first and last names, enabling more personalized invitations and improving the overall candidate experience.

  • Greenhouse integration now maps compensation and work pattern into the New Hire form. The Greenhouse integration can now transfer compensation data and the selected work pattern to PeopleForce when hiring a candidate.

Greenhouse offer fields can be mapped to employee compensation fields in PeopleForce, allowing this information to be prepopulated in the New Hire form. This reduces manual data entry and helps keep employee data consistent when moving candidates from recruitment to hiring.

Perform

  • The Reviews section now has a clearer structure. The previous My page has been redesigned. Now, in the About me page, you can access reviews and results related to yourself, and About others page contains reviews and review tasks related to other employees.

  • KPI import is now available in Settings → Imports. You can now bulk import both KPI definitions and KPI progress using dedicated templates. The import flow includes field mapping and a preview step, helping you verify data before it is added to the system. This makes KPI management much faster at scale, reduces repetitive manual work, and helps keep KPI data consistent across large teams.

Pulse

  • Pulse driver reports now use an improved print and PDF experience. The Export PDF action has been renamed to Print or PDF and now opens a print-friendly version of the driver report in a new tab. From there, you can use your browser’s print dialogue to print the report or save it as a PDF, making driver results easier to review, print, and share.

  • Submission date added to Pulse result exports. Pulse result exports now include a submission date column, letting administrators track when responses were submitted. This improves data analysis without compromising respondent anonymity or altering active forms.

Time

  • Time v2 projects now include codes and descriptions. When creating a project, you can now provide an optional Code and Description in addition to the project name and emoji. Project codes make similarly named projects easier to distinguish and can also be used when searching for a project while logging time. Codes are included in exports, and a new option lets you group exported data by project, making it easier to analyse project hours and support invoicing and payroll workflows.
