Learn how to perform initial setup of your system with core settings

Updated over a week ago

Peopleforce is the HRM system for your business with the most advanced features and tools. In this article, we will tell you how to properly prepare and configure the system according to your company's needs.

Core settings

Core Settings section includes home page settings, calendars, locations, divisions, departments, positions, holiday policies, employment types, skills and forms.

Home page settings

Here, you can select the Leave types to display in the Who's out today widget on the Home Page, enable the Anniversary and Birthday widget, and choose to display employees on working leave like business trips, remote work, etc.

Important: If you do not select anything, all leave types will be displayed there.

Calendars

This will give you an ability to set up Company's Calendar permissions. Basically, you can choose what types of events you want to show or hide from employees.

Locations

It is important to indicate locations in the system. They could be countries or cities where the company has offices in. In locations, it is also possible to include address, time-zone and Holiday Policy.

Important: all employees you assign locations with a particular time-zone will automatically have this time-zone set up in their personal accounts.

Departments, divisions and positions

Create departments and divisions according to the organizational structure of your company.

How to use and differentiate them, you can read here.

Positions

In the Positions tab, add all possible positions that exist in your company. Later, when creating a profile for a new employee, you will be able to select one of the previously created positions.

Holiday policies

Holiday policies should be assigned to locations and will automatically work for employees who are associated with particular locations, and they will have public holidays in the countries they are located.

You can check public holidays of each country.

Also, it's possible to create a new holiday.

New created holidays can be:

Working holidays - they will be displayed in the calendar but will not be a day off if an employee will request leave and grab this day in his/her vacation period.
Non-working holiday - usual public holiday
Compensated working days - if you want to reschedule holiday to another day (if public holiday is on weekend, and you want to give employees a day off during working week).

Employment types

In the Employment types tab, add all possible types of employment that exist in your company. Later, when creating a profile for a new employee, you will be able to select one of the employment types you have created according to his/her work schedule.

Skills

In the Skills tab, add skills to the system so that later employees can add them to their profile by selecting a certain skill level, or add them independently to employee cards if necessary. You can utilize our skills import feature to import them in bulk. Read more here.

Forms

Forms are a functionality that makes HR routines more flexible and gives HR managers a supportive resource for communicating in processes and approving any kind of request from employees and managers.

Request forms can be adjusted, setting up accesses for different departments and locations, selecting who can see and send requests.

After you save a request form, it will be available in the "My Activities > Request Forms" menu for employees who have been granted access to submit this request form. You can read more about how to add and use request forms at this link.

Done! 😃At this point, we recommend going to the People HR module settings. You can find all the necessary information by following link.
