2.27 Release overview

Summary of all features and improvements we're announcing in this release

Updated this week

We're introducing new features and enhancements to make your key processes smoother and more efficient. Here’s what’s new:

✅ Customize department-specific information and integrate it seamlessly into employee profiles and the org chart.

✅ Make leave management simpler with new options for approving leave requests directly from email, controlling negative leave balances, and restricting leave withdrawals.

✅ Easily import bulk data into employee tables for faster updates and more accurate records.

✅ Enhance confidentiality by hiding reviewer identities from managers while keeping feedback anonymous.

Departments’ custom fields

Available for: Core HR

You can now add and track custom information for each department - like the dedicated HR specialist or compensation accountant manager, and more.

You’ll find a new Fields tab in the Departments settings where you can create custom fields tailored to your org structure. These fields will appear in the employee profile (Job → Department) and the org chart (via popover view). It’s a simple way to keep key department data handy! Read more here.

Leave policy improvements

Available for: Core HR

We’ve made a whole bunch of small updates to make your leave management experience better:

✅ Approve or reject leave requests directly from email - managers can now take action in one click.

⛔ Set limits on negative leave balances - control how much time off can be requested beyond available balance.

📆 Restrict leave request withdrawals - set a deadline (e.g. X days) to help you manage and track changes more easily.

These and a few other improvements give you more flexibility and control, while keeping processes clean and compliant. Read more here.

Import data into custom tables

Available for: Core HR

You can now import data directly into custom tables by selecting an employee table and uploading your data file - this simplifies bulk updates, cuts down on manual entry, and ensures your profiles stay accurate and up-to-date with just a few clicks. Read more here.

New setting for reviewer anonymity in Performance reviews

Available for: Perform

To support more confidentiality in performance reviews, we've introduced a new setting that allows you to hide the names of peer and upward reviewers from the reviewee’s manager. In the review setup, you’ll now find two new checkboxes under the reviewer types section. When enabled, reviewers' names are visible only to administrators, while managers can see the submitted feedback. This update guarantees fully anonymous, honest, and unbiased input during the review cycle. More here.

Other updates

In addition to the major enhancements introduced in version 2.27, we've also rolled out several other updates designed to improve your overall experience with PeopleForce. Here's a quick overview of these:

Core HR

  • We’ve added three new columns to the Leave requests report - Approvers, Current approver, and Last action on—to give you clearer visibility into who approved what, who’s up next, and when the last action was taken. More here.

  • The Celebrations report now includes each employee’s work anniversary in years (tenure), helping you quickly see who’s celebrating milestones and how long they’ve been with the company. More here.

  • We’ve added a new section in the Slack “Who’s out” notification that shows who’s off due to a public holiday. It also includes the total number of people absent on that day—making it even easier to stay informed at a glance.

  • We’ve added new variables for salary details that can be used when generating documents from an employee profile or as part of a workflow. These cover both current and previous salary amounts and their currencies.

  • We’ve expanded the configuration of the leave based on total work experience to support more flexibility in granting time off based on an employee’s total work experience. You can now add up to 10 multiple levels within a single policy level to set accruals of additional days based on the employee's prior work experience.

API

  • We’ve added a new API endpoint that tracks the history of candidate movements between pipeline stages.

  • The Get an employee table API lets you retrieve detailed information from a specific employee’s custom table by specifying the table's internal name (in API v3) or table ID (in API v2). In a single request, you’ll receive the table’s ID, internal name, description, and all the rows of the table.

  • The Get employee API has been enhanced to include termination details—now you can retrieve termination effective date, comment, type, eligibility for rehire, and other related fields, all in a single request.
